Alexander Bastrykin sends experienced investigators and criminalists to Khabarovsk Territory to assist in investigation in Federal Security Service Directorate attack

Experienced investigators and investigators criminalists of the Investigative Directorate and the Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee are sent by order of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin to Khabarovsk Territory to assist in criminal investigation, launched by Military Investigative Office of the Investigative Committee in Eastern Military District, in homicide of two or more people, illegal acquisition of firearms, attempted murder of a law-enforcement agent under Part 2 of Article 105, Part 1 of Article 222, Article 317 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on 21 April 2017 an unknown person entered the Khabarovsk Territory Directorate of the Federal Security Service and started shooting at everyone inside the building. One agent of the Federal Security Service and one visitor died, one more visitor has been wounded. Right before the incident, the shooter stole two pistols and a carbine from a shooting range and killed a firearm instructor in the process.

Investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the event. Criminal investigation is ongoing.
