Criminal investigation in murder of teenager concluded in Murmansk Region


The Major Cases Office of the Murmansk Region Office of the Investigative Committee has concluded a criminal investigation against 18-year-old resident of Kola District and 15-year-old resident of the town of Kola, who is accused in homicide committed by a group of persons by previous concert under Item G, Part 2 of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code, and a criminal case against the 18-year-old resident of Kola District in illicit sexual relations with a person who has not reached 16 years of age under Part of Article 134 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, in March 2016 the accused being on a stairway of a house in Zashchitnikov Zapolyarya Prospect in the town of Kola, Murmansk Region, having personal hostility against an underage teenager started arguing with him and intentionally hit him in the face with their fists. After that, they used their knives to inflict 29 stabs in the head and other body parts of the victim. The teenager died on the scene.

More than 30 witnesses were questioned within investigation of the case, more than 20 forensic tests including medical, genetics, fingerprint tests were carried out.

In order to prevent reasons and conditions that favor the crime, the investigator of the regional office of the Investigative Committee has proposed the police to take additional preventive measures in order to find out and resolve consequences that endanger lives of children. The proposal is being reviewed.

The criminal case with the signed indictment has been referred to court.
