Investigative Committee Chairman orders check in media reports on resettling people in unsafe housing in Komi Republic

Several federal TV channels have shown today coverage of resettling residents of the settlement of Noshul, Komi Republic from old barracks to another housing as shabby as the previous one. Media reports claim that local authorities failed to create necessary conditions for the people to be resettled and thus violated their rights.

Alexander Bastrykin has ordered the head of the Komi Republic Office of the Investigative Committee to check the information.

Investigators are going to give a legal assessment to actions (omission) of officials responsible for resettling citizens in the region. If they find sings of an offence, they will initiate criminal proceedings.
