Statement of Investigative Committee on publications related to children’s suicides

The information published on 4 May by an Internet news outlet regarding an analytical report of investigations into children’s suicides made by the Investigative Committee including statistical data on such suicides attributed to the Investigative Committee as well, is untruthful. Conclusions made by journalists on confrontation between the Investigative Committee and other competent bodies are also incorrect, especially considering the fact that they are made in the midst of tragedies and have to do with the most important thing – children’s lives. We are addressing to journalists who spread around information not bothering to check it, and we are reminding that there are both an opportunity and necessity to verify the information or at least existence of the documents they refer to.
