Investigative Committee Chairman orders materials gathered to arrest man injuring woman on pedestrian crossing in Moscow

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee has given an order to the head of the Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee to gather all necessary materials to arrest the man who battered a woman on a pedestrian crossing in Moscow. He is now under a battery investigation under Article 116 of the RF Penal Code.

According to the investigators, the man was moving on his BMW on 1st Vrazhsky Lane from Plyushchikha Street. He did not let the woman with two children cross the road on the pedestrian crossing. The woman was scared and slapped the man’s car with her hand and then went to take the children to school. The man got out of his car, came up with the woman and hit her twice on her arm.

Unfortunately, the man was not stopped by the fact that it was a woman in front of him, or that she had her two children with her. This is why his unbecoming and obviously unmanly behavior will be the subject of not moral, but criminal proceedings.

The investigators believe that while at large the man may prevent the investigation by pressing witnesses or the woman, or even escape. Though the crime is not a major one, the investigators are going to ask courts to remand the man in custody pending trial.
