Investigative Committee’s Head Office takes over cases in boy’s attempted murder and negligence of Magadan Region guardianship officials

The cases over the attempted murder of an 11-year-old boy who was hospitalized with cachexia to the Moscow Endocrinological Research Center and over negligence of officials of the guardianship authorities that let a family to adopt the boy in Magadan have been taken over by the Investigative Committee’s Head Office because a large amount of investigative operations being conducted in two regions – Moscow and Magadan Region, complex forensic examinations run to assess the damage done to the boy, the necessity of highly-qualified medical aid and to find out all the reasons and contributing factors of the crime.

The investigators are going to find out the motives and document evidence of all the crimes committed against the child, look into the conditions under which the boy was adopted and give legal assessment to the actions and omission of certain officials of the guardianship authority who should have checked the boy’s living conditions in the foster family and make sure that his rights and legal interests were respected.
