The Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee has finished criminal proceedings against a 32-year-old man charged with violation of road code entailing grievous bodily harm under Part 1 of Article 264 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on 12 December 2016, the man was driving his Gelandewagen along Mosfilmovskaya Street to the center of the city when he ran over 8-year-old twin girls. It was established the girls were crossing the road with their mother at a pedestrian crossing and on green lights.

Doctors fought for the girls’ lives for several days.

The man caused the girls severe injuries, including multiple fractures.

The man pleaded guilty.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case with the signed indictment has been referred to court.
