Following order of Alexander Bastrykin Investigative Committee’s Central Office takes over check into TV coverage of injuring girl at PE lesson in Nizhny Novgorod

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered that the Central Office should take under control a check into injuries suffered by a girl at a PE lesson. The check into media reports on the incident is being run by the Nizhny Novgorod Region Office.

As was revealed earlier, a TV channel showed a coverage on 18 May 2017 saying that a girl broke her spine when she fell off a horizontal bar during a PE lesson at school in Avtosavodskoi District of Nizhny Novgorod. The coverage went on saying that the school staff had not called an ambulance, but tried to hide the information about the incident, so the girl did not get any medical help until that evening. The Nizhny Novgorod Region Office of the Investigative Committee launched a check immediately.

At present the information is being verified carefully, procedural operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident. If the medical reports are proven to be true, an investigation will be started and the guilty ones will be prosecuted.
