Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has sent a commission of the Investigative Committee’s Central Office to Sverdlovsk Region to check an investigation in negligence under Part 1 of Article 293 of the RF Criminal Code opened in violation of rights of residents of an apartment building in the settlement of Veresovka.
A federal TV channel showed on 23 May 2017 a coverage about residents of an apartment building in the settlement of Veresovka, Perbouralsk Urban District fearing the stability of the house after its reconstruction.
According to investigators, despite unsafe condition of the building, officials of the local administration did nothing to resettle the residents and thus violated their rights and legal interests.
The officials of the Central Office are going to check the investigative operations done and see if timely assessment was given to the actions of the officials responsible for providing citizens with comfortable housing and for recognizing the house, a part of which had been destroyed, as fit for living. They will also check which steps have been taken to resettle the residents.
