The Head Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against vice-governor of Vladimir Region Yelena Mazanko suspected of taking bribes on large and very large scales totaling to some 3 million rubles under Part 5, item “c” and Part 6 of Article 290 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, Mazanko took bribes from businessmen for assisting them in getting government contracts on repairs at the region administration’s building and supply of furniture.

By now Mazanko has been detained and is now being interrogated. The investigation is ongoing.
