In Karachay-Cherkessia, local resident to stand trial for killing judge

The Karachay-Cherkessia Office of the Investigative Committee has finished criminal proceedings against a 54-year-old resident of the settlement of Tereze, Malokarachayevsky District charged with attempt on the life of a judge under Article 295 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, the judge of the Malokarachayevsky District Court on his personal Toyota stopped by Nadezhda shop on his way to the settlement of Pervomaiskoye. He went to the shop to buy some things and then came back to his car. The footage from the shop’s surveillance cameras show how half a minute later a man came to the car and shot four times at the judge through the right front window from a 7.62mm Tiger hunting rifle. He then went to his car, but 40 seconds later came back and shot one more time at the judge and then took off.

The killer left the judge no chance of survival shooting him in vital organs. The judge died before an ambulance arrived. Operative agents of the Karachay-Cherkessia Police Department and Office of the Federal Security Service the killer was identified and apprehended four hours later. The man said that he had acted intentionally and killed the judge for a decision the latter had made in a civilian litigation with which the killer had not agreed.

The criminal case with the signed indictment has been referred to the Karachay-Cherkessia Supreme Court.
