The Transbaikalian Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against mayor of Mogochi Yevgeny Krasnov. He is suspected of negligence under Part 1.1 of Article 293 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, the mayor failed to properly discharge his duties of controlling the execution of municipal contracts and efficient use of budget funds which caused very large damage.

In 2014, the Mogochi administration concluded municipal contracts of SibStroyKom company for purchasing and shared-equity construction of housing worth 145.4 million and 12.6 million rubles. Between 2014 and 2016, Krasnov signed acceptance certificates of executed works worth more than 26 million rubles without making sure that the contract had been executed properly. This way he caused very large damage to budgets of different levels.

At present, investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime.
