Investigative Committee Chairman orders check in constructing houses in Moscow Region natural reserve

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has given order to the head of the Moscow Region Office of the Investigative Committee to run a check in constructing houses on the waterside near the Moskva Channel off the village of Vitenyovo.

A federal TV channel reported that ecologists and residents of Vitenyovo, outside Moscow, were asking to look into illegal, as they claim, construction of cottages on the waterside near the Moskva Channel. The TV channel went on to say that hectares of natural reserve was divided into plots by some businessmen and in some of them new owners had even started constructing houses.

The Chairman demanded that all-round legal evaluation should be given to the actions of the developer and officials who had given consent to the construction.
