Altai Territory investigators look into unsafe services inuring child at zoo

The Altai Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in providing unsafe services for children under 6 years of age under Part 2, item “b” of Article 238 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, at about 3 PM on 8 July 2017, a 3-year-old boy was with his father at the Barnaul Zoo. At some point the boy slipped his hand though the bars of a wolf cage and one of the wolves bit his hand. The boy was taken to hospital with lacerated wounds of hands and ear.

At present, the investigators have ordered a forensic medical examination, are questioning the zoo’s staff, eye-witnesses and are confiscating necessary documents.

The investigation continues.
