Alexander Bastrykin holds briefing and attends event in Sebastopol
Chairman of the Investigative Committee has held today a briefing in the city of Sebastopol attended by leadership of the city’s investigative office, its staff and staff of investigative divisions.
At the briefing Mr. Bastrykin provided statistics on crimes in the Russian Federation, Southern Federal District and Sebastopol. He paid special attention to prevention and investigation of crimes committed against minors or by minors.
As a positive example the Chairman said about the development and adoption of a database on runaway minors created by the forensics department of the Sebastopol Investigative office and includes all contacts of such minors, places where they may be located, pictures and pages in social media. Thanks to such data on each minor who at least once has come into view of social services or police, it sometimes takes minutes to find them if they run away again. Mr. Bastrykin offered head of the Investigative Committee’s Sebastopol Office Viktor Tanifa to spread this experience among colleagues in other regions. He also drew attention to positive practice of the Sebastopol Office in patronizing children’s social institutions and to advisory council which helps orphans and children left without parental care, and urged to respond harshly to all wrongdoings committed against this defenseless category of citizens.
After the briefing the Chairman visited a memorial site on Sapun Mountain which was the scene of battles for Sebastopol during the Great Patriotic War, and laid flowers to the obelisk dedicated to the Glory of Liberators.
