Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has held a meeting with citizens in the city of Moscow.

More than 30 people from the city of Moscow, Moscow Region, Kemerovo, Leningrad, Belgorod, Tambov Regions and Bashkortostan made an appointment for today and all of them were received. In addition, approaching the building of the Investigative Committee, Mr. Bastrykin was met by elderly women from Tomsk Region. They asked him to see them, though they did not have an appointment. The Chairman listened the women who complained that they had been detained in summer after they had asked the President to stop corruption inside law-enforcement authorities in Tomsk Region. Mr. Bastrykin ordered his subordinates to analyze the complaint and take necessary steps under the current laws.

The Chairman also saw the injured party in the case of an 8-year-old boy who died in hospital after going down a slide on a playground in the town of Vsevolzhsk, Leningrad Region in February 2017. There were also those complaining about improper investigations of causes related to missing people. A woman from Bashkortostan complaint about poor investigation in the case of her teenage daughter who died because of medical malpractice. Member of the State Duma Pavel Dorokhin came to discuss an investigation being carried out by Irkutsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee.

Mr. Bastrykin gave orders to his subordinates considering all the complaints, which he also took under personal control.

The Chairman pays special attention to complaints filed by citizens. At present there are several ways to contact Mr. Bastrykin: reception offices, including those in regions where people can write complaints, Online reception offices and Chairman’s blog. There are also social networks: the Chairman’s Reception Office and his group in VKontakte, group in Facebook and an official group of the Investigative Committee in VKontakte. This way, each citizen is able to directly contact the Chairman.
