Following reports posted in the Internet, the Orenburg Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in negligence of the crime prevention authorities under Part 2 of Article 293 of the RF Criminal Code.

As became known earlier, the dead body of a 5-year-old boy with signs of violent death was found in a flat in the town of Orsk, Orenburg Region on 6 October 2017. The boy had suffered multiple injuries to his head and body. The Orenburg Region Office of the Investigative Committee opened an investigation in murder of the child under Part 2, item “c” of Article 105 of the RF Criminal Code.

Preliminary investigation established that the crime was committed by a 36-year-old boyfriend of the boy’s mother from the town of Yasny, Orenburg Region, when he was drunk. The man has previous convictions.

At present investigators are taking all necessary steps to assess the actions (omission) of officials of the crime preventive authorities. They have questioned the family’s neighbors, officials of the crime prevention authority, requested job descriptions and other documents.

The investigation continues.
