Second joint sitting of boards of Russian, Armenian and Belorussian Investigative Committees opens in Yerevan


Today, Yerevan has hosted the second joint sitting of boards of the Russian, Armenian and Belorussian Investigative Committees. The event is being attended by Chairman of the RF Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Armenian Investigative Committee Agvan Ovsepyan and Chairman of the Belorussian Investigative Committee Ivan Noskevich.

Before the opening of the sitting, Mr. Bastrykin and Mr. Ovsepyan signed Memorandum of understanding between the Russian and Armenian Investigative Committees.

The Memorandum provides for cooperation between the parties in the widest range of issues concerning countering crime, including requests of documents and materials; exchange of information on new methods of expert examinations and achievements in forensic science; sharing experience in organizing operations of the countries’ investigative authorities and other important aspects of cooperation.

During the sitting, representatives of the Russian, Armenian and Belorussian Investigative Committees discussed a number of essential issues in improving international cooperation and enhancing efficiency of collaboration in certain categories of crimes.

The agenda of the sitting also included some aspects of optimizing work connected with sending requests on legal assistance to competent bodies of foreign states – member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States; the use of computer technologies in the operation of investigative authorities; investigation and prevention of crimes in IT.
