5 gangsters involved in killing 15 in Moscow Region and capital jailed

Based on the verdict of the jury, a court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict Pavel Voitov, Yelena Lobacheva, Vladislav Karatayev, Artur Nartsissov and Maksim Pavlov. Depending on the role of each one, they were found guilty of murder of two or more people committed with special brutality by an organized group under part 2, items “a”, “e”, “g” and “i” of Article 105, attempted murder by an organized group under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 2, items “a”, “g” and “i” of Article 105, robbery committed using items that can be used as weapons by an organized group under Part 4, item “a’ of Article 162, attempted robbery using not dangerous violence under part 3 of Article 30 and part 2, item “d” of Article 161 and robbery under Part 1 of Article 161 of the RF Criminal Code.

The court and investigators have found out that five accomplices united in an organized group and brutally killed people from July 2014 to February 2015 in the city of Moscow, Moscow and Yaroslavl Regions. They picked their victims among homeless and drinking people. They committed their crimes in deserted places at nighttime using knives, hammers, brass knuckles and other items.

DNA, medical and other forensic examinations were run and confirmed the guilt of all the gangsters.

The court has sentenced Pavel Voitov to life in prison, Yelena Lobacheva to 13 years and Maksim Pavlov to 9 years and 6 months in a minimum security correctional facility, while Vladislav Karatayev got 16 years and Artur Nartsissov 9 years and 6 months in a maximum security correctional facility.
