Mass media have today criticized the investigation opened in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra against a traffic police officer who ran down a 15-year-old teenager on a motorbike and was drunk according to eye-witnesses.

The Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra Office of the Investigative Committee opened an investigation against the traffic police officer suspected of violation of the road code entailing death of a person under Part 3 of Article 264 of the RF Criminal Code.

Considering growing public resonance and criticism by the Media, the progress and results of the investigation have been taken under control by the Central Office of the Investigative Committee. Legality and impartiality of positions of an investigator and operative officers looking into the crime are going to be checked.
