Investigative Committee Chairman assumes control over check into media reports in Kaluga Region on violation of rights of large family

A federal TV channel has showed today a story of a large family living in Kaluga Region, who have to rent a flat because their flat is being occupied by a relative leading asocial lifestyle. The show said that the woman has been on the list for an apartment since 2009, but she has been pushed back each year. Neighbors have been complaining about the asocial resident and idleness of police about that.

The Kaluga Region Office of the Investigative Committee has launched a check into the information. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee has ordered the Central Office to take the check under control.

Investigators are going to give legal assessment to the actions (omission) of police officers and actions of officials of the Kaluga town board who failed to terminate the first-hand contract and possibly violated the law when failed to provide housing to the woman.
