The Head Office of the Investigative Committee continues the investigation in a traffic accident in Mari El that took lives of 15 people.

The investigation has found that the wood-transporting truck was using wrong tires making it possible for the semitrailer to skid to the wrong side of the road and collide with the Mercedes Sprinter passenger minibus.

Driver Rinat Mamatov, 51, has been held on suspicion of violating the road code.

An investigation has been initiated in violation of transport safety entailing death of two or more people under Part 4 of Article 263.1 of the RF Criminal Code. The truck leaseholder and owner of the semitrailer Ruslan Musayev, 53, has been detained as a suspect.

In the near future, investigators are going to charge the suspects and ask courts about restraint.
