Probe launched in mass food poisoning of children in Mordovia

The Mordovia Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in unsafe services under Part 1 of Article 238 of the RF Criminal Code following media reports on 11 students of school in Saransk getting acute enteric infection.

A check has found out that from 18 to 24 November 2017, some students of 1-8th grades were diagnosed with acute enteric infection. All of them lived in the same block of flats. Employees of Rospotrebnadzor (the federal consumer rights protection authority) took samples of food in the school cafeteria. Primary lab tests found no violations of health code. By now samples of tap water have been taken from the house the students live in and have been sent to the lab.

Investigator continues necessary investigative operations, questioning witnesses and the victims. Investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the incident, including the reasons why the children got worse. They are now in satisfactory state. The investigation continues.
