Ukrainian citizen suspected of urging to terrorist activity in Russia

On 2 July 2017, Ukrainian citizen Anatoly Gritsenko publicly urged to blast vehicles in Moscow and Taganrog during The Week program on channel 112 Ukraine.

Investigators of the Head Office of the Investigative Committee have come to a conclusion that is confirmed by a linguistic test of the video, that Gritsenko’s speech contains urges to terrorist activity.

According to Article 12 of the RF Criminal Code, foreign citizens who do not live permanently in Russia, who have committed a crime outside Russia, but directed against Russia’s interests, are subject to criminal responsibility under Russian laws. Therefore, the Head Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against Anatoly Gritsenko suspected of public calls for terrorist activity under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the RF Criminal Code.

At present, investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime.
