Man from Altai Territory found guilty of false imprisonment and murder threat against paramedics

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Altai Territory office of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict a 46-year-old resident of the settlement of Bobrovka, Pervomaisky District. The man was found guilty of false imprisonment of two or more people under Part 2, items “d” and “g” of Article 127 and murder threat under Part 1 of Article 119 of the RF Criminal Code.

The court and investigators, have revealed that on the evening of 14 February 2017, the man was drinking alcohol, when he suddenly felt pain in his chest. He called an ambulance and paramedics examined him and provided with medical aid.

When he called an ambulance again, the man demanded the paramedics to stay put and do not try to leave. He then took out a knife and threatened them with it. Police officers negotiated with the man, released the paramedics and held the accused.

The court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to 4 years and 2 months in a maximum security facility.
