Local man charged with killing boy in Amur Region

The Amur Region Office of the Investigative Committee has pressed charges of murder of a minor under Part 2, item “c” of Article 105 of the RF Criminal Code.

On the night of 16 December 2017, a 4-year-old boy went missing in the settlement of Shiroky located in the town of Raichikhinsk, Amur Region. An investigation team examined the flat and the surrounding areas and found the boy’s body with signs of violent death in a technological hole in the basement located before the window of the flat.

The investigators and police officers ran raids in Bureisky District on the same day and detained a 24-year-old man who have previous convictions for property crimes and a murder and who was released from prison in February 2017.

According to investigators, the man, who is the brother of the boyfriend of the boy’s mother, asked to stay the night and killed the boy at night while everybody was asleep, and then tried to escape.

The man confessed to the killing and showed how he had done it. A court has ruled to place the man in custody pending trial. The investigation continues.
