A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Perm Territory Office of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict a 30-year-old ex-convict born in Transbaikalian Territory and his 29-year-old accomplice. Depending on the role of each one, the two men were found guilty of larceny under Part 1 of Article 158, two counts of robbery under Part 1 and Part 2, item “d” of Article 161, attempted robbery under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, item “d” of Article 161, murder of two or more people under Part 2, item “a” of Article 105, arson under Part 2 of Article 167, robbery under Part 3 of Article 162, attempted arson under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 167 of the RF Criminal Code.

The court and investigators have revealed that the 29-year-old man was released from prison in August 2016 after serving his time for a property crime. He did not want to work, but did not have any source of income, so he stole a cell phone from a female acquaintance of his in October 2016 in Okhansk District and left for the city of Perm. There he attacked women from 5 to 7 November 2016, robbing them of their money and other belongings. Trying to hide from the police, he arrived in the town of Chusovoi on 8 November 2016 and started drinking alcohol with a local resident he had known before. On one evening the accused stabbed to death a 31-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman during a drunken brawl in a detached house. He and two of his acquaintances set the house on fire. On the night of 9 November, the two accomplices got into a house through a window. They used force against the owner to get his money and things worth over 6 thousand rubles. With the stolen money and things, they went to a flat owned by a local woman and continued drinking in the company of some local people. The 29-year-old man killed a 37-year-old woman and the 55-year-old owners of the flat. He then set the flat on fire and fled. Residents of the building saw the fire and called firemen, who put it out. The man and his accomplice were apprehended and taken in custody on 10 November 2017, thanks to well-coordinated joint efforts of the investigators and Perm Territory police officers. The third man escaped, but was held later. The investigators questioned the injured parties and more than 30 people, ran many forensic examinations and carried out other investigative operations to find the truth. There are 12 case files of the materials.

The court has sentenced the man guilty of killing 4 people to life in a super-maximum security facility, his accomplice to 8 years in a maximum security facility. The case against the third accomplice was severed to form a separate lawsuit and is being considered by a court at the moment.
