Ex-deputy head of Bogotol found guilty of fraud with municipal housing in Krasnoyarsk Territory

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Krasnoyarsk Territory Office of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict former deputy head of the town of Bogotol, Krasnoyarsk Territory, found guilty of fraud committed by an organized group under Part 4 of Article 159 of the RF Criminal Code.

The court and investigators have revealed that in 2014-2015, deputy head of Bogotol used her position to get municipal housing. An acquaintance of hers acted as a man of straw when using forged housing contracts, they made it look like the latter and her son were living in a house recognized as a dangerous structure and earmarked for resettling under the 2013-2017 regional program “Resettling citizens from dangerous structures in Krasnoyarsk Territory”. The accused used the same scheme to get a flat for her mother. This way she registered ownership for her relative and other men of straw to 3 municipal flats in a house in Bogotol worth a total of 6 million rubles and caused the town a considerable pecuniary damage.

The court has sentenced the woman to 6 years 3 months in a minimum-security facility.
