Alexander Bastrykin has ordered senior officials of the Investigative Committee’s Sverdlovsk Region Office to immediately open a criminal investigation in an incident that happened last weekend in a hostel in the town of Beryozovsky. A man felt unwell and asked to call an ambulance. Eye-witnesses claim that medical workers refused to arrive after they had learned that the man was intoxicated. The man later died.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee has instructed investigators to find out not only man’s cause of death, but all the circumstances surrounding the incident, and check the actions (omission) of dispatcher and staff of the emergency room when they received the call.
