On the evening of 19 December 2017, an unidentified man hit several times and stabbed a magistrate in Severnaya Street in the town of Yemanzhelinsk. The woman was taken to a hospital. The Chelyabinsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee opened an investigation in assault on a representative of justice under Part 4 of Article 296 of the RF Criminal Code.

Investigators and criminalists of the regional investigative authority together with officers of the regional offices of the Federal Security Service and Interior Ministry have detained 39-year-old local man who has previous conviction for robbery.

According to investigators, on the said day the suspect attacked the magistrate, but she fought back and managed to run away. The suspect has confessed to the crime.

By now, the investigators have detained the suspect in accordance with Article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code and he is now expecting a custodial restraint and charges. Investigative operations are underway to collect and register evidence. Doctors say that the victim is stable. The investigation continues.
