In Krasnoyarsk, staffer of SPA salon to stand trial for causing death to client

The Krasnoyarsk Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has finished criminal proceedings against a 29-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk charged with reckless homicide under Part 1 of Article 109 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, the man, who had no medical training, worked as a masseur in a SPA salon in Oktyabrsky District in Krasnoyarsk. On 29 June 2017, he received a 57-year-old woman, whom he had made massage several times before. The woman had been complaining about pain in the thoracic spine and the small of her back, so after the massage, the accused made a decision to give her two injections of medicines, including lidocaine. After the injections, the woman felt unwell and died a short time later.

A postmortem showed that the woman died of lidocaine overdose, as she had been injected with four times the maximum doze of the medicine. The accused pleaded guilty.

The investigators have enough evidence so the criminal case with the signed indictment has been referred to court.
