Alexander Bastrykin demands heads of regional investigative authorities in Maritime and Altai Territories to report on progress and results of inquests into violations of rights of citizens

A federal TV channel has showed today a coverage telling about a fraud of officials of the Maritime Territory Education and Science Department connected with buying housing for teenagers leaving orphanages at overstated prices. It was stressed that many of the teenagers have not got their flats. The Maritime Territory Office of the Investigative Committee is looking into the fraud now.

Another coverage was connected with a desperate situation in which several families from the town of Barnaul found themselves. They have to live in the basement of an administration building housing a day-care center and a health club. Many of them have been registered on that address and have been living there for many years. Officials are doing nothing to sort out the problem, but they had committed some illegal actions to evict people from their homes. The residents have to put up with recurring power outages and other inconveniences while they can’t move to other places. The Altai Territory Office of the Investigative Committee immediately started a check into the situation.

Having learned about gross violations of rights of citizens, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered heads of regional investigative authorities to report to him on the progress and results of the investigation and the check.
