Probe launched in Moscow Region against 20-year-old who raped small girl

The Moscow Region Directorate of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against a 20-year-old man suspected of a rape under Part 4, item “b” of Article 131 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, in June-July 2017, the man raped an 11-year-old girl in the town of Yegoryevsk, Moscow Region. The crime came to light in January 2018, when students of the school attended by the girl told their teacher about it. The teacher then reported it to the girl’s legal representative.

The local man, a student of the Yegoryevsk technical school and an ex-con, was detained on suspicion of the crime. He pleaded guilty and was charged. He is now in custody pending trial.

The investigators are going to give legal assessment to actions or omission of child negligence prevention officials, administration of the school and the girl’s legal representative.

At present, investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding crime. The investigation continues.
