Probe launched in Perm Territory into death of three in fire

Burnt bodies of a woman and 2 men were found on the night of 22 January 2018 after a fire in a wooden 3-flat house in the settlement of Yekaterininskoye, Siva District. The Perm Territory Office of the Investigative Committee opened an investigation in reckless homicide under Part 3 of Article 109 of the RF Criminal Code.

An investigative team including experienced criminalists of the regional investigative authority left for the scene. Initial investigation has established that a husband and wife lived in the burnt house. The investigators assume that the victims are the couple and their guest. No visible traces of any violent crime have been found so far. According to preliminary information, the three died of carbon monoxide inhalation.

Investigator has examined the scene and confiscated items related to the probe. Forensic medical examinations have been ordered to find out causes of death and a fire examination to find reasons for the fire. Necessary investigative operations are ongoing to find and document evidence. The investigation continues.
