Probe launched against resident of Kamchatka Territory suspected of malicious injuring of his son

The Kamchatka Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against a 39-year-old resident of the settlement of Palana. The man is suspected of malicious injuring under Part 2, item “b” of Article 111 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, in 2013, the suspect felt angry because his 7-year-old son was having some troubles remembering the alphabet. He grabbed the boy by his arm and leg, lifted him as high as his chest and threw on the floor. The child sustained fractured tibia.

The boy’s mother did not report the incident to the police, because the man had intimidated her. The man suffers from mental disorder and is under regular psychiatric check-up.

The suspect has been detained and is now expecting a custodial restraint. The crime was revealed by the juvenile department of the Koryaksky police station.

At present, investigators are working to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation continues.
