In the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), probe launched into flight accident

Investigating bodies of the East-Siberian Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case into the flight accident with Yakutia Airlines Sukhoi Superjet 100 under Part 1 Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (breach of safety standards for operation and traffic of aircraft entailing grievous bodily harm and serious material damage by negligence).

According to the investigation, on October 10, 2018 at 3:20 local time Yakutia Airlines plane, which was flying the Ulan-Ude-Yakutsk air route, skid off a runway at the Yakutia airport. Onboard were 91 passengers and 5 crew members who were evacuated using emergency slides. The aircraft sustained damages. 4 passengers requested medical assistance.

The investigation carried out an inspection of the crime scene, scheduled forensic examinations, carried out interrogations of witnesses, as well as other investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the accident.
