In Saratov, probe launched into the provision of unsafe services entailing death of a person, resulting in death of young woman

The investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Saratov Region launched a probe into the provision of unsafe services entailing death of a person by the employees of one of the clinics of Samara (Part 1 Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the investigation, a resident of the regional center, who is a disabled person of group I, was registered with a chronic disease in one of the clinics of the city. From January to May 2018, the medical institution did not write her reimbursed prescriptions for the necessary medicines because of their absence in pharmacies in the required amount. In this regard, the victim purchased the necessary medicines at her own expense. Eventually, she lost financial ability to purchase medicines. On August 10, 2018 her health deteriorated sharply and she was hospitalized in one of the hospitals of the city. On September 14, 2018 a 28-year-old young woman died.

Currently, investigative actions are carried out in order to establish all the circumstances of the incident, as well as those who caused the tragedy. Forensic examination to establish the cause of death of the victim is ordered. The criminal investigation continues.
