In Irkutsk Region, two accomplices to illegal traffic of alcohol-containing product will stand trial

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation finished a probe into Alexander Okunev and Roman Ivanov. They face charges of committing an offense under Paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia (production, storage, carriage or sale of goods and products, which do not meet standards of safety to lives or health of consumers perpetrated by a group of individuals under a preliminary conspiracy).

According to the investigation, during November and December 2016, the accused individuals had been purchasing an alcohol-containing product featuring methanol, in the city of Irkutsk, for their financial benefit. At home, they had been rendering the product into an alcohol-containing liquid and had been selling it as Boyaryshnik cosmetic product to an unidentified circle of people in Irkutsk while presenting it as an alcohol drink.

The investigators of the Investigative Committee conducted an impartial investigation and pressed charges to the “businessmen” on the basis of the gathered evidence.

The investigation gathered enough evidence, therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment against seven accomplices was sent to the court to be tried on the merits.

Those are not the first perpetrators to stand trial. A range of individuals affiliated with the trafficking of the deadly product, had already been found guilty of the offenses the investigation accused them of, by the court. Without doubt, every accomplice of the illegal activities will be held responsible as the law states, appropriate to their deeds.
