North Caucasian Federal District Main Investigations Directorate continues investigating the probe into Ivan Bomberger, the Deputy Head of Sochi Administration. He is suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Russia (exceeding official powers). Today, at a request of the investigation, he was subjected to a preventive detention.

According to the investigation, the functionary had exceeded his official powers by groundlessly giving out a permit for construction of an apartment housing complex within the power line restricted area, risking an emergency and cutting of the electricity supply.

A complex of required investigative activities aimed both to register evidence of the committed crime and to assess the legitimacy of other his decisions is currently being carried out.
