In Krasnodar Territory, probe launched into death of two people of adverse weather conditions

The Krasnodar Regional Office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation launched a probe into an offence under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Russia (infliction of death by negligence on two or more persons).

According to the investigators, a rapid deterioration of weather conditions and heavy precipitation in Tuapse District in the afternoon of October 24, 2018, had entailed death of a71-year-old woman, whose body had been found at her private house in Krivenkovskoe rural settlement. Later that day, the body of an 81-year-old man had been found in a flooded first-floor apartment in the same settlement. The forensic examination preliminary concluded that they had died of asphyxiation while drowning.

In addition, the investigators received a report on a missing 67-year-old woman from Tuapse, who had been pushed to a drain pit by a strong flow of water and then pulled away by the current. A location of the missing woman has not been tracked yet.

At the moment, a complex of investigative activities is being carried out in order to define the circumstances of the accident. Forensic examinations are arranged.

Moreover, the investigators went off to the crime scenes following reports on three bodies found in stanitsa Kabardinskaya of Apsheronsk District and a man's body found in Khadyzhensk. The Krasnodar Regional Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched pre-investigation probes into those matters. Causes of death of the citizens are being established.
