Investigative Committee hosts working meeting with Netherlands police representatives

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation hosted a working meeting of officers of the Directorate on International Cooperation and the Main Forensics Directorate with representatives of the National Police of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

During the meeting, a complex of matters on countering of distribution of pornographic photos of minors via Internet was discussed. In particular, the staff of the Netherlands police made a presentation on activities of relevant units at the national and regional levels, whose competence included combating child pornography and “sex tourism”, as well as some statistical indicators of the spread of the illegal activity in Europe.

In its turn, the Russian party explained to the foreign colleagues the issues of relevant activities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, including those in the framework of interagency cooperation.

The main subject of the dialogue was aspects of bilateral cooperation with reference to potential use of Russian Internet resources for illegal purposes by some foreigners.

Provided the importance of the matters in question, the staff of the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation expressed their willingness to assist their Dutch colleagues, in line with their competence, including provision of legal assistance in probes.

The parties established their intention to develop and strengthen their cooperation in the area, as well as on other matters of mutual interest.
