Main Forensics Directorate of Investigative Committee of Russia hosts meeting with officers of Criminal Police of Federal Republic of Germany


In line with the Plan of Interaction of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation with the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany to exchange expert experience and best practices forensics, on February 5-6, 2018, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation hosted Becker Stefan, the Head of the Central Physical and Chemical Laboratory for the Study of Material Traces and Microparticles of the Federal Forensics Institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Heyer Torsten, the Head of the High Police School of the Institute.

The German guests got acquainted with examples of forensic and special equipment used by officers of the Main Forensics Directorate during inspections of scenes; visited expert laboratories; and learned about areas of expert activities of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

During the round-table meetings with chiefs and staff of the Main Forensics Directorate, the German representatives presented reports on the structure and tasks of the Forensics Institute of the Federal Criminal Police Office of the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as on the activities of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (EnFSI); took part in a discussion on features of arranging and performing of DNA, biomedical, and physical and chemical expert studies. At that, major attention was paid to establishing of the exchange of expert experience and cooperation in advanced training of employees of the Main Forensics Directorate and the Forensics Institute of the Federal Criminal Police Office of the Federal Republic of Germany. An agreement was reached to maintain contacts of expert services of the Forensics Institute of the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany and the Investigative Committee of Russia.
