The North-Western Transport Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened an investigation into a heavy landing of An-2 aircraft on Vaskovo-Mezen domestic flight in Arkhangelsk Region under Part 1 of Article 263 (violation of the rules for traffic safety and operation of air transport) of the Criminal Code of Russia.

Preliminary data show that two crew members and 11 passengers had been aboard. One of the passengers had dislocated his elbow and was hospitalised.

An investigative operational group headed by the Chief of the Arkhangelsk Transport Investigations Department went off to the scene immediately.

At the moment, investigative activities are being carried out in order to establish circumstances, causes, and conditions of the incident.
