The Investigations Directorate VII (located in Rostov-on-Don) launched a probe into Head of Northern Caucasian Directorate of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia Timofey Pan and Chief State Inspector of Rostov Regional Department Alexander Litvinov into offences under Part 1.1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia, including neglect of duties of said functionaries during the discharge by them of their official duties related to control and supervision in the area of industrial safety and their failure to take administrative legal actions against management of Sulinugol LLC pursuing illegal activities of mineral processing.

Operational support is provided by the Federal Security Service of Russia.

The probe builds on joint activities of regional law enforcement authorities which have already resulted in several opened investigations.

Investigative and search activities aimed to establish circumstances of the committed offences under the probe are currently ongoing.
