In Rostov Region, suspect of murder of local female citizen, allegedly involved in two other murders of past years, arrested

The Rostov Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia continues investigating a probe under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder) into a missing local citizen.

As it was reported earlier, on October 16, 2018, a 24-year-old young woman left her home located in Platon Klyat street in Rostov-on-Don and dissappeared. Later hr body was found with signs of violent death.

From the moment of launching the probe investigators and police officers have been carrying out meticulous day-to-day work to identify and detain the person involved in the crime. Investigators checked all possible versions, analyzed probes of past years and compared results of different forensic examinations.  

The person involved in the crime was identified as a result of investigative activities and criminal intelligence and surveillance operations. He is a 37-year-old citizen of Rostov-on-Don. The man is already detained and subject to required investigative activities. Moreover, it was estimated that the suspect was involved in murders of two young women, one in Oganova Street in Rostov-on-Don in 2000, the second in Leninavan village in 2001.

The criminal investigation is ongoing.
