In Perm Territory, probe launched into death of six people in fire, including one child

The Perm Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened an investigation into the death of six local residents in a fire, including one child, under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Russia (infliction of death by negligence on two or more persons).

According to the investigation, at the night of November 20, 2018, a fire occurred in a private house on Novostroyashchayasya Street of the town of Chusovoy. Three women, two men and one infant child died in the fire. A team of experienced and qualified forensic investigators, a fire engineering expert, an investigator from the Investigations Directorate are working at the scene using high-tech forensic technology. During an examination of the bodies at the scene, conducted by the investigator together with the medical forensic expert, no visible marks indicating violent offence were found.

At the moment, the crime scene examination is being conducted, following which necessary forensic examinations will be arranged to establish the cause of the deaths and the fire. All the circumstances of the accident are being established, including the reasons and conditions that led to the tragedy. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
