The Moscow Main Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened an investigation into an officer of Elektrostal Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He is suspected of encroachment on the life of a person engaged in a preliminary investigation (Article 295 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

According to the investigation, on November 28, the police officer holding a knife attacked an officer of the Prosecutor’s Office in the building of the Prosecutor’s Office. However, his criminal intent was disrupted by colleagues of the victim.

During an interrogation, the suspect refused to testify, and his motives remained unknown. At the moment, a complex of investigative activities is being carried out in order to define the circumstances of the accident. Upon request of the investigation, the court will elect a preventive measure for the police officer.
