The Orenburg Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is establishing all circumstances and causes that led to a murder of a 10-year-old boy. In the evening of November 19, 2018, a resident of Sakmarskiy District had reported her 10-year-old son missing. The Orenburg Regional Office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation had immediately launched a probe into an offence under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder).
Search activities were immediately arranged in order to to establish the whereabouts of the missing children,. The search for the missing schoolboy and immediate investigative activities were joined by an investigative team, experienced forensic investigators of the Orenburg Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, police officers, EMERCOM, military personnel, District Administration employees, search-and-rescue group's volunteers and local residents.
Due to well-coordinated joint work of investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia and Orenburg Regional police officers it became possible to find the body of the boy, establish what had happened and detain a person responsible for this grave offence.
Investigators of the Committee examined the crime scene and interrogated the suspect. A set of operational investigative activities and forensic examinations is being carried out at the moment. An psychological and psychiatric examination of the suspect is arranged. The investigation intends to motion the court to rule to keep the suspect in custody. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
The Investigative Committee urges citizens not to remain indifferent to reports about missing children and expresses its gratitude to everyone who took part in the search for the boy.
