The Krasnoyarsk Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened an investigation into officials of the Krasnoyarsk Urban Development Department under Part 1.1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia (negligence entailed damage on a very large scale).

According to the investigation, in 2017 and 2018, yet unidentified officials of the Krasnoyarsk Urban Development Department violated the auction procedure and purchased housing for orphans at inflated prices, causing the Krasnoyarsk Territory budget the damage totalling to more than 61 million roubles. It was established that the department employees had incorrectly calculated the price per square metre. In total, about 360 apartments were purchased.

Currently, all the circumstances of the incident and all persons involved are being established. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
