In Sverdlovsk Region, probe launched into Head of Sverdlovsk branch of JSC Russian Railways

The Major Crimes Investigation Department of the Ural Transport Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened an investigation into Head of the Sverdlovsk Railway, branch of JSC Russian Railways Alexey Mironov under Paragraph C of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of Russia (bribe-taking by a functionary, in person, in the form of monetized services provision for overall patronage on a large scale).

An operational investigative unit, which included all employees of the Major Crimes Investigation Department and the Sverdlovsk Transport Investigations Department of the Russian Investigative Committee, the Transport Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Ural Federal District, and the Sverdlovsk Regional Directorate of the Federal Security Service of Russia.

At the moment, Mironov is detained under Article 91 of the Russian Code for Criminal Procedure, interrogated as a suspect. As part of the criminal inquiry, a personal search of the detainee was conducted; he was charged with the said offence.

Today, the investigation will decide upon a restriction measure for the defendant. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
